Dropped by or in?

I have a bunch of questions, Could you answer it? Please. Emotion: smile "drop in/by"! when should I use "by" and when should I use "in"? Is it similar to visit? When do we use "drop in/by" and when do we use "visit"?Is there any situation that we can use "turn up" instead of "drop in/by"?

  • youzou "drop in/by"!
  • when should I use "by" and when should I use "in"?
  • Is it similar to visit?
  • They are practically identical, so it doesn't matter which you use.
  • "by" sounds to me a little more like a case when someone is already going somewhere else, but since your place is on the way, they drop by, but either "by" or "in" can mean that.

They are practically identical, so it doesn't matter which you use. "by" sounds to me a little more like a case when someone is already going somewhere else, but since your place is on the way, they drop by, but either "by" or "in" can mean that. It's a visit, yes.
