Grammar

drop flat /on the side

Is this natural? Have I written it correctly?

I dropped my phone on the side which is why my screen didn't break. You on the other hand dropped your phone flat which is why your screen broke.

Thank you

I would say: "When I dropped my phone, it fell on its side so the screen didn't break, whereas yours fell on its face when you dropped it which is why the screen broke."
