Driving licences

Could anyone please explain the difference between disqualification, withdrawal, seizure and custody of a driving licence?

Top answer

In the United Kingdom, certain driving offences may result in disqualification from driving for a a period of time. Informally, we say that we have been 'banned' from driving or that we have 'lost' our licence. Your other expressions mean nothing to me.

He's obviously asking what the minute differences are between having one of those acts done from another to his license.

Annon, might I recommend that you utilize a legal dictionary for answering that question? Though, I suppose a few subtleties of the English language might not be present there - I'm not sure, neither am I an English guru, so that's about all I can do for you.
