Hi,
I have found this sentence in a grammar book and made me wonder:
a. I was driving in my car.
Why do we have the preposition IN? Why not just say
b. I was driving my car.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Both ways are good. "In" emphasizes the experience. Without "in", you are stating a fact.
