Driver or Driver's licence

Hi Everyone,

My licence actually says - Driver Licence. I get this given it's the name of the card/document/thing.

However, what do others think about the following sentence:

Peter wants to get his driver's licence as soon as possible.

To me, this is about possession rather than title. It just doesn't sound right to me.

Thanks,

Well, I've heard only driver's licence and driving licence so driver licence does sound wrong to me.
