Drive over speed limit

- Yesterday afternoon he was pulled over by a policeman because of riding / driving over speed limit, and he was fined 150 USD.

- Is this sentence grammatical?

Yes, as corrected. But we'd normally write ... because he was driving over the speed limit ... fined $150.

- What if he was riding a motorcycle? In that case I will say "...................because he was riding over the speed limit", right?

I almost always hear and say more simply '. . . because he was speeding' or ' . . . for speeding'.

It's shorter.

Now how much nicer sounding is that than "You were driving like a bat out of ****"?
