drive in reverse

How would you phrase the sentences?

I drove in reverse down the street.
He can drive as well in reverse as straight forward. (He drives very well straight and as well in reverse.)

"I drove in reverse down the street." That is OK, but "I drove down the street in reverse" is probably more usual.

"He can drive as well in reverse as straight forward." "Straight" should not be there: "He can drive as well in reverse as forward."
