drive

This invention has made freeways and roads safer and easier to drive after dark.

Is this sentence correct or do I have to use "drive along" ?

Thanks ,

It's a little sloppy without along or on , so it's best to include the preposition. You will hear this sort of thing without the preposition, however. People are sometimes a little sloppy.
