"take tea", as in "Will you take tea?" or "We took tea at the hotel", is a rather genteel and old-fashioned form of words that you will rarely (if ever) need to use. Instead, say it another way, such as "Would you like a cup of tea?" or "We had a cup of tea at the hotel".
