Drift away

Hello,

May I seek your advice on the following sentence? Is it grammatically correct? Or does it sound natural?

My thoughts drift away from the present moment, and I somehow lose my consciousness into the duvet. (I want to describe a man bothering by his thoughts, but eventually he falls asleep.)

Many thanks,

K

Tai Kim Yi My thoughts drift away from the present moment, and I somehow lose my consciousness into the duvet. ) I guess opinions may vary, but for me, the second part of this reads oddly, almost humorously so. "somehow lose my consciousness into the duvet" to me feels too literal, as if you are talking about losing your TV remote control, or something like that.
