I would say, "What do dress shoes have to do with basketball?"

OR "Do you think dress shoes have something/anything to do with basketball?"

Shouldn't do be plural (does) since dress shoes is plural?

Yeh, that was an accident...but that 's' is actually the way I tell apart singular form from plural form...because I memorized s to stand for singular...
