Dreams go by contratries

Hi

It's a VERY common saying in my part of the world. Would you say it is common among native speakers as well?

Dreams go by contraries (=if you see someone dead in your dream, it means he is going to live long)

Mr. Tom Would you say it is common among native speakers as well? I've never heard of it, and I would not know what it meant if you said it (US).

I've never heard of it, and I would not know what it meant if you said it (US). Alcott refers to it. It is not in Brewer's.
