Dreamed of // hoped for becoming the greatest musician

My brother has always dreamed of becoming the greatest musician in the world.

Hi,

Is it the same to say " hoped for becoming ..." instead of "dreamed of becoming ..." in the above? Thanks.

Hi Angliholic I would not use "hoped for becoming", but you could use "hoped to become".
