Dream of the rood, wife of bath, margery kempe

I have a test tomorrow and I am going to have to write an essay somehow comparing and contrasting some aspect of these pieces of literature. Between The Rood and Margery Kempe I see a lot of suffering mostly. The cross suffers for Christ, and Margery Kempe suffers as a result of her visions of the crucifiction. They both have to do with the crucifiction and also visions of some sort. I'm not sure what the exact question will be so I can't get too specific on my comparisons. Between Margery Kempe and The Wife of Bath (Chaucer), I see a focus on the individual. The Wife of Bath's prologue is much longer then her tale, focusing on her own story, while Margery Kempe is purely auto-biographical. Also, both women like to get a lot of attention on public. Between The Rood and Wife of Bath I start to struggle. As of this post, I haven't figured out anything too solid. Just wondering if anyone else can make any strong connections and suggestions. I'm just sitting here brainstorming, wonder what other people think.

Thanks, Cody
