Vocabulary

draw/come to an end

Hello,
What in your opinion is the difference between: "When the war came/drew to an end, Europe was in ruins"? I am not sure if "draw" fits the context and I think that "draw" suggests that the war was in its final stage. "Come" suggests to me that it had already ended. I don't think that makes much sense, though. Emotion: smile

Thank you
