Vocabulary

draw/call attention

Once I was told that draw attention and call attention have different meanings. That to call somebody's attention means to say sombody who has done something wrong no to do it again.
Is this true?
Thanks in advance

Thank you Mister Micawber. I think that some teachers thought that to call the attention of ... might be a literal translation of the meaning of this phrase in Spanish.

What I meant is that the phrase 'call the attention' translated literally into Spanish (llamar la atención) may also mean 'give a warning' (among other meanings). Perhaps that is the reason why some Spanish teachers of English make this mistake.
