Drank VS drunk

Which is correct:

Endorphin is a hormone in the body which emits into the blood stream during pain to help ease the pain; and this hormone if BLANK by way of drinking the blood such as in human sacrifice rituals can cause a euphoric high much like opiate drugs.

Should I use 'drank' or 'drunk' in the 'BLANK' section?

Personally I wouldn't use either in that scenario, I would use 'consumed'.
