Vocabulary

drag someone round?

Hello everyone,

in The National's song "Without permission" there is one sentence I can't figure it out.
I'll put a fragment:

"Oh I've come to know
You had to go without permission
Cause it was how, how I wore you down
And how I dragged you round my sole ambition"

What could be the meaning of I dragged you round my sole ambition in that context.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions

From what you've written, the person had an ambition that he was so fixed on ('sole ambition') that he didn't notice anything else or the effects of this obsession with one thing. In pursuing this obsession, he dragged others 'round' it (like the moon around the earth - ie it was the centre (of attention/attraction) around which all things must move) giving no space or thought for their own ideas or plans. d
