downgrade/compromise standards/principles

Hello,
I realize that "compromise" might sound much better than "downgrade" which is seldom used, but do the following sentences make sense:
"I will not downgrade/compromise my standards because of her. Not for anything."? Downgrade means to me "to accept lesser standards or principles" in this context. To aspire to something lesser. What do you think?

Absolutely, I just want to know if the other two work as well Emotion: smile. Safety at work can be downgraded, can't it (I think neglect would so

No. We aspire to great things. That is the meaning of aspire - to dream of or try for things greater than what is normally possible.
