Down the line

Blaming himself for his team's failure in the previous two seasons of the IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan admitted his "lack of knowledge" had led to a few wrong decisions as the side failed to perform as a unit. The superstar, who attended the team's preparatory camp for IPL-3 at the CC&FC ground in Kolkata, however said that that was all past and that he would like KKR to win the IPL this time to prove that he can deliver. "We did not go about it the right way. I think I let down the side in the sense that I could not make it a cohesive team. I would like to take the responsibility.
"Somewhere down the line, I think a lot of decisions were taken by me or I was at least part of some of it... Maybe a lot of things with lack of knowledge about how things should be done in a new format like Twenty20," Shah Rukh told reporters.

Could you please explain to me what "down the line" means in this context?

Generally though I know it means "completely" or "all the way".
