Dowdy
When a guy or a gril looks unfasionable, can I use ' dowdy ' ? For example,
My girlfriend is not trendy/or stylish. She looks dowdy. She always wears dowdy or tacky shirt and blue jeans.

That is a correct usage, but not common for young Americans (high school and under). I would just rephrase to say she has no fashion sense, if my audience is not especially educated.. Dowdy is a great word though!
