Double dutch

Hi,

When you’re studying a language that’s impossible to understand, you say that it’s double Dutch to you.

Is there a phrase you use when you have to learn something apart from a language and you find it difficult to understand it? Let’s say that you’re preparing for an engineering exam and coming to grips with the content is still difficult for you because it’s not your cup of tea so to speak.

Thank you.

I have never heard that. I suppose it is not US English. Double Dutch is a style of skipping rope.
