Grammar

Doubel or single "will"

Could you pls help me become clear on the right grammar on this?

As I'm sick, I will stay at home and be lying at bed

or

As I'm sick, I will stay at home and will be lying at bed

The basic problem here, VMG, is that the aspects are unnaturally mixed. ' With these, there is no difficulty about the auxiliary 'will' serving both verbs.

The basic problem here, VMG, is that the aspects are unnaturally mixed. Better form would require:

'As I'm sick, I will stay at home and lie in bed.'
OR
'As I'm sick, I will be staying at home and lying at bed.'

With these, there is no difficulty about the auxiliary 'will' serving both verbs.

No modal ("will", "can", "may", etc.) need be repeated in the structure you cite.

We will eat and drink. Can you sing and dance?

Normally, however, the two parts are parallel in tense.

I would say, "As I am sick, I will stay at home and lie in bed." (not "stay" and "be lying")
