I don't think that "dork" is similar to "nerd"...

A dork is not the same as a nerd.


dork there are two meanings. 1. a socially inept person. 2. the *****.

nerd uninteresting, not fashionable in dress and appearance, studious, thought to have poor social skills.

Here are a couple of other somewhat similar terms.

I guess that if a reporter wrote a story with the headline Surgeon Bungles Vasectomy, the editor would probably shorten it to Doc Docks Dork.
