Dookie ball ?

Hello all,
I would need anyone's help to understand the meaning of a line in a TV show I'm currently translating (into French).
Context : cocktail given for a couple's engagement

(the father of the bride to one of his friends)
-You know, you gotta come to my club next week-end and I'll tell you all about dookie ball. (rires en boîte)
-Dookie ball?
-Yeah. It's gonna sweep the nation.
If anyone understand what is funny or relevant in these lines, please please, help me!
Thank you!

Most probably the style of basketball played by Duke University. Duke University, in Durham NC, has been a basketball powerhouse for decades. They have been coached by Mike Krzyzewski for over two decades, and have won three national titles in that time.

  • If they don't win the national title, they at least are usually in contention for it.
  • I may be wrong, but see if that fits in context.

I definitely hadn't thought of this... But what would be funny, then? (the "rires en boîte" means "recorded laughs")... The "dookie ball" line has to be funny... if you understand the joke!

You have the advantage. I don't speak French, and I haven't seen the full context. I'm offering a possibility that may or may not fit.

Personally, I think it's somewhat amusing that a Fr

En Anglais, nous disons "canned laughter" ("risée conservée"?).

The sport of dwile flonking is classified as a "pub game", but the only time I witnessed it, it took place in the village square in conjunction with other traditional revelries

Perhaps there is nothing funny in the words. Perhaps the character saying this is so improbable as a predictor of trends that it is funny that he thinks he knows on
