Don't understnad why not use SUBJUNCTIVE

It is important that he get/gets the job.

I would use 'get' but it seems that teachers would use 'gets' What is the answer please?

Thanks I use "get" (AmE). I'm told that "gets" is more usual in BrE. CJ
