Don't take insurance

Hi

Functional medicine doctors are real specialists in treating chronic diseases
with supplements, and they often don’t take insurance. They rarely act as primary
care physicians because they are in such demand. They’re likely to be too busy to
respond to emergencies.

What does it mean that they don't take insurance? They have no medical insurance?

Top answer

I think it means that they do not accept patients whose bills are going to be paid by a medical insurance company and/or state medical insurance.
