Don't italicize titles in quoted material, right? Is this incorrect?

NO: John said, "I like the Associated Press's article on pro wrestling last week."

YES: John said, "I like the Associated Press's article on pro wrestling last week."

Wrong. The rules for italicization are independent of quotation marks. Here the error (which I did not previously address) is that there is no reason for Associated Press to be underlined or in italics in any case, since it is just a company name.
