Don't get me wrong

Please don’t get me wrong, I am not using this forum as a platform for carrying out party propaganda.

Is the phrase "don't get me wrong" appropriately used here?

"Please don't get me wrong" is OK. However, propaganda is not something that you can really "carry out". You could say "disseminating party propaganda".

  • There may be a more common and conversational verb that fits, but right now it eludes me.
