Don't call me next week because I am / will be on holiday.

Hello.

Could you please explain which of the sentences below is correct and why?

1) Don't call me next week because I am on holiday.
2) Don't call me next week because I will be on holiday.

Perhaps the first one suggests that I am already on holiday and plan to stay one week more (but how it could be implied?), while the second one states that I will start my holiday next week.
