Are they the same meaning? If not, what is the difference in meaning between them?

1. By the way, I dare say VietNam has done an excellent job on organizing such a major event.

2. By the way, I dare say VietNam has made an excellent job of organizing such a major event.

I'd say that, on the whole, "do" is more abstract, and "make" is more concrete. You do someone good, you do a job, but you make the bed, you makecoffee... Yet I do agree it's sometimes hard to make

But I still think that repairing a bicycle is more concrete than removing a stain. "Do" and "make" may be used with "job", but you still have to make the difference between both.

(Or I may be completely wrong!)

I think there difference between the two words."do" is somebody actively to do,and "make" is "creating". Maybe my understanding is wrong ,but i am like to join this discussion.

As in "make a good job of it" so the result is excellent?

yes - or at the very least, so that the job is done properly and not just a half hearted effort.
