Can you tell me whether these two domains make sense? "www.nyu2014applicant.com" and "www.northwestern2014applicant.com" Thank you for replying!

There is a lot of leeway in domain names, so I think this would be fine. Unless of course the website is for something totally unrelated to what it conveys. You might change "applicant" to "application" if it will be where a prospective student goes to apply, but if it is a page of general information for an applicant, then I think it's fine as is.
