Doing/do

1.Are you doing what I think you are doing?
2.Are you doing what I am thinking you are doing?

Which one is correct? Can you provide us with an explanation?

The first is correct.

In the first, "what I think you are doing" is a noun phrase operating as the object of "doing"

i.e. "Are you doing [something]?"

"Thinking" in the second, could be a gerund if the sentence were taken to mean:
"Are you doing the thing that I am thinking about?"
