doing research from (the?) perspective of biostatistics?

Is there anything wrong with this phrase, especially the usage of the world "perspective"?

Does it mean "doing research using methods of biostatistics?" Which is better?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Yes, that is what I presume it must mean, but 'perspective' is quite odd here; I think the straightforward ' using biostatistics in research ' is better.
