So I'm visiting a friend and I see their puppy. Should I say:

Oh wow he grew! Or

Oh wow he's grown!

What's the difference and why the usage?

Thanks

You mentioned that he is still a puppy, so I would use the present perfect, as the 'growing' is still going on.

When you say "grew" you kinda mean that he wont grow anymore. Its simple past, he did not grow before, he grew now.

Now when you use "grown" its present perfect. You have seem him small and now you see him grown.

I would use, "he has grown up"
