Doggy

I just called in a lost dog named sophie. Should I say:

Have you lost a dog? Or

Did you lose a dog?

True story. Emotion: smile

Hi, Both are said, but in your context the Present Perfect is better. It sounds more like the speaker may know where the dog is, or be able to help. Clive
