Dog bowl

My dog is a very messy drinker. Whenever she drinks, she splashes water around the kitchen. My mom bought a new water bowl for her with a 'groove' around the bowl to stop her from dropping moutfuls of water onto the floor.

I am not sure if it can be called a 'groove'. I have attached a picture to this post to make it clearer what I have in mind.

Thank you.

If the bottom part was separate, it would be a saucer. I gather that the bottom part is actually attached to the bowl, but because it still looks so much like a saucer I would be inclined to describe it as a dog bowl fixed to a saucer, or dog bowl with attached saucer, or something like that. To describe its function more fully, you could say that it the saucer is attached in order to catch any drips, or something like that.
