  1. The prisoners broke out of jail when the guards were not looking.
  2. The prisoners broke out the jail when the guards were not looking.
does above two sentence grammatically correct? if it is correct , does two sentences give the same meaning?

2. The prisoners broke out the jail when the guards were not looking. --> This is wrong.

However you could say this instead:

2a. The prisoners broke out the window when the guards were not looking.
