Does work or it works?

I saw a sentence in a technical forum, related to video and I'd like to know if it is correct:
"I just tried this trick on a pal image and it does work on my DVD player".

If it were me writing, it would be: "I just tried this trick on a pal image and it works on my DVD player". Is this correct?

Thanks

They're both fine. The "does work" form is typically used as a confirmation. Does it work, or doesn't it work????

"I think this guy is crazy. I did exactly what he said to do. I tried it three times, and it just doesn't work."

(reply) "You must be doing something wrong. I had no such problem. Make sure you follow directions. I can assure you, it does work."
