Does this statement sound natural ?

The main factor contributing to depression is stress from our life. Depression will be getting even worse if we couldn't handle it well.

The main factor contributing to depression is stress from our life. Depression will be getting even worse if we couldn't handle it well.
Not completely natural, no. The first sentence is OK, but I'd write the second sentence like this:

Depression gets (even) worse if we are unable to handle it well.
