Does this sentence sound natural to you?
"There came about a bitter feeling between the two sides."
Is there any difference between " a bitter feeling" and " bitter feelings"?

OK to me, a bit "literary."

The image of 'two sides' suggests to me a plural form ('bitter feelings'). I wouldn't rule out, though, the possibility that both sides have the same bitter feeling.

It is somewhat natural, but certainly grammatically correct. Both forms are. The difference is in whether they share the

Came about is OK. However, it's a bit literary and not commonly used. When it is used, it's usually with a subject rather than an object.

eg "A bitter feeling came about between the two sides."
