Hi, I just translated this sentence from Finnish and I'd like to know whether it is correct, if that sounds natural in English... Thanks!

From these accountings, the most relevant ones from the perspective of the physician’s field were chosen for posterior analysis.

I'm not sure that "accountings" is the right term, and I'm pretty sure that "posterior" isn't the right word. Why not say "the medical field" instead of 'The perspective of the physician's field."

No, not at all natural in English. Sorry.

If I understand it correctly, this is the translation.

The data most relevant to medicine was selected for further analysis.

Not having the original text in Finnish, and not being able to understand it if I did, I can't, of course, be sure, but what you have written suggests something along those lines.

How about:

From the physician's perspective, the most relevent ones were chosen for posterior analysis.

I don't hear the word "posterior" used in this context too much anymore, but see below for word meaning.

Exactly. I'm sure the original poster doesn't want to risk suggesting -- with the use of "posterior analysis" -- "rectal examination".

I still don't find "the physcian's working field" very natural at all. Is there a reason you don't want ot say "most relevant to the medical field"?

Sorry about the confusion,
Well, the reason why is because in the text some references to physicians who work in rural areas are made, so the sentence would have to convey a meaning along these lines... Hope you can see my point... Many thanks for the assistance!
