"Today I spent some hours recapitulating what I've learned so far about HTML."
or this one should be better?:
"I took a couple of hours today and recapitulated everything I've learned about HTML so far. "

Both are OK, if you use the verb 'review'.
"I spent a couple of hours reviewing everything I've learned about HTML so far."
"I spent a couple of hours" sounds better to me than "I took a couple of hours".
