Does this sentence sound "awkward"?

She had ensured that I continue my own work- much less than requiring me to help her.

In this sentence, are the constructions before and after "that" correct?
Should I write "They had ensured for me to continue..." or "that I continued"?

Should "requiring" become "require" also?

Thanks!

Your sentence has a problem, but it is semantic. 'Much less' is out of place here and clouds the meaning. Since I cannot understand what you intend, I suggest some different possible meanings: She ensured that I continue my own work by not requiring me to help her.
