Does this sentence sound aright?

At this point, with a deadline looming, all signs pointed to a possible failure, which would be a huge blow to my group as we were just trying to establish ourselves for the new practice area.

I was trying to say, we were working a project in a new area previously we were unfamiliar with. So we want to establish ourselves in this area to make our clients believe that we are good.
