Does this sentence make sense?

Does the sentence below make sense? Thanks!

"I had to design a burglar alarm system that would beep annoyingly forever if the user didn't click the "RESET" button when the burglar entered the room either via the front door, left-hand side door, right-hand side window or front window (the "front window" alarm is activated when the burglar steals the vase as the precious item is resting on a pressure pad) and set the alarm off."

It's much too long, and ridiculously complicated. Break it into shorter sentences. Clive
