does this poem make sence

Then and Now

From the day I was born
They saw me come down the hall
They held me in their arms
Hoping they wouldn’t drop me.

Over years past we would always
Play together
I would stop what I was doing just to
Hang out with them.

They brought me to show and tell at school.
And I was excited to cheer them on at games
When I rode my bike for the first time they cheered me on.

They were there when I shop a basketball
On a 6 FT hoop when I was 6
I soon will be the only child at home and that scares me.
I’m going to miss going to school together
asking me how my day was.

From the day they graduated
I was there to cheer them on
I held them in my arms
Hoping I would never let go.

  • It makes sense, but it is not a poem: it has no meter or internal rhythm, it includes no figures of speech or rhetoric.
  • It is simply a few paragraphs broken into arbitrary lines.
