The son of zeus, Polyphemus is at first nice and then soon becomes hateful. Polyphemus eats two of Odysseus's men and confines Odysseus and the rest of his men for Polyphemus's upcoming meals. Odysseus does not think that he is afraid of anything and due to that two of his men are eaten and the rest of Odysseus's men and him get (locked in a prison) for future meals. One of Odysseus's character flaws is bad leadership because he was just curious and doesn't think that he is afraid of anything. He led his men into a trap.
