"You don't know anything about life" is a good sentence. However, I do not think it is the correct phrase for what you want to say. I would say, instead: You don't (know how to act/have any manners).

Could you give me an example when to say "you don't know anything about life"?

Is there a word missing in the sentence above between example and when?

If you think you can live off your friends forever, then you don't know anything about life or how the world works.

Yes. "...give me an example of when to say ..."
