Does this make sense

Hi i am filling out a questionnaire on a job application and I am wondering whether the following sentences make sense

1. The accounting rules seemed to differ from what I have been learning, and I found there were so many accounts with names that I have never came across in my previous study.

can I use "came across" here or I should just use "seen"

2. For each account that was new to me, I tried to investigate its account nature and its specific meaning to the company by going beyond in knowing whether it is a debit or credit.

I am not sure if beyond is used correctly here, what I am trying to say is that on top of knowing whether the account is a debit or credit account, I try to figure out its account nature and its specific meaning to the company

3. In the end, regardless of what "fancy" names those accounts had, they had to be one of the five types of accounts, either being assets, liability, expenses, equity or revenue, and it was until then I realised they strictly followed the fundamental concept of accounting, despite being more complicated than the examples shown in my textbook.

I am not sure "either..or" is used correctly here or not, and should I shorten the sentence as it is too long?

thank you
